On Tuesday, Zuva Petroleum announced that it will now be selling fuel in United States Dollars at selected fuel stations across the country. The prices of the fuel will be different depending on the location of the fuel station. The announcement comes barely, five days after Finance and Economic Development Minister Mthuli Ncube called on Zimbabweans to desist from using United States Dollars when conducting transactions locally. The Minister insisted that the United States Dollar is legal in Zimbabwe.

Zuva Petroleum announced that eight service stations across the country will be accepting foreign currency payments. It seems the price you pay for a litre of Diesel or Petrol will depend upon the town in which the service station is located.  The prices of  the fuel are as follows:

 

  • Harare:
    • $1.25 Diesel
    • $1.22 Blend
  • Mutare:
    • $1.23 Diesel
    • $1.20 Blend
  • Bulawayo:
    • $1.25 Diesel
    • $1.24 blend
  • Beitbridge:
    • $1.26 Diesel
    • $1.25 Blend
  • Victoria Falls:
    • $1.29 Diesel
    • $1.28 Blend

 

The company also announced that it has opened 8 more service stations across the country.  The 8 service stations are as follows:

 

  • Harare: Lorraine, Groombridge, Pendennis and Valley service Stations
  • Bulawayo: Macs Garage
  • Beitbridge: Oasis service station
  • Mutare Palmerstone
  • Victoria Falls: Zambezi service station
